It has a very special scent note of Encyclia Polybulbon. This orchid usually grow in oak forests or in mixed forests, and mimics smell of a rare Sandalwood with hint of cloves. In the Mahabharat, Durodhyan mentions healing properties of perfumes from sandalwood and aloeswood.
It also has fragrance oil of Bulbophyllum ambrosia . It is known by many names-
