It has top notes of Oncidium Sharry Baby, a sympodial orchid hybrid registered in 1983. You can easily find it due to its mouthwatering scent of vanilla and chocolate. It is super easy-to-grow and loved by orchid collectors.
It's intensely fresh fragrance is built on the harmony of flowers, wood, amber and musk. The powdery and aldehydic notes of Orchids make it an unforgettable aroma. It’s how the cloths feel drying in warm pure sun. It’s how breeze on Sentosa feels on the skin. It’s how the splashes of water feel just as the rain starts! It's the experience of walking on a glacier!
Its magic can only be experienced, not explained.
But why is Singapore so clean and was it always so clean? The answer is no. It was a city with little water and almost no sewage system. The beautiful Singapore river was once so dirty that no one ever touched its waters.
Things changed 50 years ago when Mr Lee Kwan Yew kicked off the “Cleanliness campaign”. It started with stricter laws, reorganizing street vendors but most importantly moving people from kampong to a housing with properly developed infrastructure.
The campaign was followed by a plethora of other campaigns that urged Singaporeans to keep toilets, factories and bus stops clean. In 1976 “Use Your Hands” campaign even had students, parents, teachers, principals and civil servants cleaning up schools on the weekend.
And yes! There were also tree planting initiatives. The result is today’s clean and green Singapore.
