Arab street by Singapore Memories
Long while ago, a lot of properties on Arab street were owned by the Arab traders. Back then, Malays called it Kampong Java and the Chinese called it Jawa koi.
These traders brought scents of the Middle east with them and even today one comes across several oud shops in the area.
The street has had a beautiful Aromatic history, which we have tried to capture in this warm scent. The deep scent are from soulful Amber, oud, Myrrh, Frankincense & Sandalwood.
Pure Jasmin, Champaka Flowers, and other local orchids have been added to remind us about Bunga Rampai, a traditional Malay flower decoration.
Several notes in this scent have therapeutic properties. For example, Amber & amber extracts were used in ancient Greece for a wide variety of treatments. People fro North Africa & the Arabian Peninsula have been using Myrrh and Frankincense to heal Arthritis.
Sandalwood oil is considered to be anti-inflammatory. Orchids have been part of traditional Malay medicines and are for treating earaches, skin disorders and so many other disorders. Some examples are - Hanching Fatimah , Si sarsar bulang, Phanyar amongst hundreds other Therapeutic orchids of asia.
